Monday 1
Give thanks for the Gathering leadership team that meet tonight: Dave T, Ruth W, Matt B, Larissa B, Glenn W, Tones Mc, Donna K, Lou S and Neil S. Pray that they will lead well and be godly examples in all they do.
Tuesday 2
Pray for Donna Kane as she spends two weeks in Jamaica looking after a small team onboard OM’s ship Logos Hope. Pray that they are an encouragement to the crew on board and a witness to those they minister to.
Wednesday 3
Coast Evangelical Church; give thanks for the growth they’ve had in their Bible study groups. Pray that God will open the door for them to teach scripture at Forster and Tuncurry High schools. Pray also for the new high school youth group (“Wired”) starting this month; that many local kids will come along and that God will give wisdom and energy to Alicia and Evan as they lead the group.
Thursday 4
Give thanks for Sandy Bent - ministry trainee with Grant this year. Pray that he settles in well and gets to know people. Pray for both Sandy and Grant as they attend an MTS training day; that they would be built up in God’s word and receive good training in leadership.
Pray for Mike’s sermon preparation for this weekend. Pray that God will teach Mike from the Scriptures and enable Mike to apply the Scriptures rightly to himself and to others.
Pray for “Celebrate Recovery” that starts tonight. Pray that God speaks through his word to move people forward in their recovery.
Friday 5
Give thanks for the Lighthouse and ASIO leaders who faithfully serve each Friday afternoon. Pray particularly for Lucy, Jasmine, Alex and Luke as they begin leading the year 3 children at Lighthouse. Pray also for Alice, Verity, Claire, Stuart & Tim as they reconnect with the year 7 kids at ASIO. Please pray for wisdom and guidance for Trent McGrath as he coordinates both these ministries.
Saturday 6
Pray for Neil S, Ben M and Donna K who return to Bible college (Sydney Missionary Bible College) next week. Give thanks for the opportunity they have to study and ask that God will help them to know Him better. Pray that they will glorify His Name with all they learn.
Sunday 7
Pray for Grant, Mike and Ed O’Conor as they speak at our different services today.
Pray for Rose Macleod being baptised today. Pray that Callum and Mia will be godly parents and bring Rose up in the training and instruction of the Lord. Pray that Rose will grow up trusting, loving and serving the Lord Jesus all the days of her life.
Monday 8
SFBC’s “Introduction to the Bible” starts today. Pray for those who are doing the course, that over the term their knowledge and love for God will grow.
The WAC leadership team meets tonight; pray for wisdom as they work on strategies for growth at WAC.
Pray for the Gathering management team that meets tonight: Dan H, Dan Mc, Amanda K, Angus H, Jodie C, Beck Mc, Lise L and Neil S. Pray that they will have a productive meeting reviewing our Saturday Gatherings and ministries to help people serve each other and grow in following Jesus.
Tuesday 9
Give thanks for the work at the War Vets. Pray for Tony and his team as they plan for 2010 and develop clear job descriptions for the volunteers to enable the team to work effectively together. Pray for Café Church being held this month, that many from the village will attend and be impacted by God’s love for them.
Thank God for Debbie Peters’ work as SRE teacher and chaplain at Cromer High School. Pray for the Board that meets tonight to plan for getting more support for this ministry, that God would give them good ideas. Pray for Ben, Marjorie, David, Jill, Barry and Kerry as they plan.
Wednesday 10
Mothers’ Union is meeting today. Pray for Carolyn Nott, Alison Pryde and the other members as they plan for 2010.
Give thanks for Jeanette Madden, Alison Gallant and Carolyn Nott as they lead and teach the girls at Rainbow (WAC after school girls group). Pray that the girls would return from last year and continue to grow to know God’s love for them and others.
Thursday 11
Pray for Tony Bradford as he has surgery today; for a successful operation and a full recovery.
Friday 12
Give thanks for Sandy Bent, Joe Nizeti, Greg Madden and Grant Gallant leading the boys’ groups of WAC. Pray that the boys would return from last year and invite their friends. Pray that they would continue to grow to know God’s love for them and others.
Saturday 13
Pray that Trent would settle into 2010 as he goes to study at Moore College on Tuesday and Fridays. Pray that Trent would be able to find a good balance between family life, study and work. Pray also that Trent would grow to love the Lord Jesus more through his study at Moore and his service at St Faith’s this year.
Sunday 14
Pray for Kerry (8.30, 10.30, 6pm), Glenn Walsh (Sunday@6.30) and Grant (WAC) as they preach today.
Monday 15
Thank God for our Parish Council who advise Kerry on ministry in the Parish and oversee the budget. Pray that as they meet tonight to review our 10.30am church ministry, that Mike would present his vision clearly, and that the Parish Council members would have Godly wisdom as they consider future developments. Pray for Alan Madder, Michelle Madder, Andrew King, Rob Jacobs and Steve Ross in this regard.
Tuesday 16
Pray for the women’s Bible Study groups that meet each Tuesday. Give thanks for Sarah Jones and the other leaders as well as those who care for the children each week.
Wednesday 17
Pray for the ministry at Warriewood Brook Anglican Retirement Village. Pray for Grant as he oversees it and spends time building relationships with the residents.
Thursday 18
Give thanks for the ministry of Gumtrees Playtime each Thursday. Pray for Rosemary, Lea and Liz as they co-ordinate the program.
Pray for Mike and Philip Selden’s sermon preparation for this weekend. Pray that God will teach them from the Scriptures and enable them to apply the Scriptures rightly to themselves and to others.
Friday 19
Pray for the young people who attend our youth programs each week. Pray that those who already have a personal relationship with God will continue to grow in their faith and ask God to draw many more to Himself.
Saturday 20
Pray for Paul & Sandra King, Kent & Linda, Steve & Narelle Etherington and Peter & Lyn as they serve God in various parts of the world.
Sunday 21
Pray for our Sunday Club (10.30) and Kingdom Kids (WAC) programs; give thanks for the leaders who teach our kids each week, pray that our kids will grow in the confidence of God’s love for them.
Monday 22
Pray for Tony Bradford and his team of volunteers as they meet with residents in the hostels and nursing home at the War Vets.
Tuesday 23
Pray for Carole Robertson as she ministers to the sick and elderly at RPA Hospital and aged care facilities; that through her work many will be comforted and come to know God.
Wednesday 24 Pray for the 55+ group who are meeting today at church for morning tea, lunch and a day of games.
Thursday 25
Give thanks for the ministry of Trish Appleby and her staff at Gumnut Kindy. Pray that many of the families who are linked with the Kindy will be impacted by the staff’s care and faith.
Friday 26
Pray for the Gathering men who are heading up to Katoomba Men’s Convention this weekend. Pray that they will all be strengthened in their faith and grow in their knowledge and love of Christ.
Saturday 27
Pray for Debbie Peters and her supporters as they meet to share supper tonight. Give thanks for Debbie’s ministry at Cromer High, pray for the continued financial support needed to enable her work to continue.
Sunday 28
Pray for Ben, Grant and Ed O’Conor as they teach us from Matthew today. Ask that God will speak to our hearts as we listen.
